JourneyPure COVID-19 Vaccination Resources

Answered by Dr. Brian Wind Ph.D. 0

The medical community recognizes the COVID-19 vaccine as a safe and effective intervention for mediating the infection and transmission of the COVID-19 virus. Scientific evidence guided an order recently set forth by the Biden administration calling for mandatory vaccinations for organizations meeting certain criteria. In light of these and other considerations, JourneyPure’s executive leadership team strongly encourages all of its employees to get vaccinated.

To begin the process of further promoting the health and safety of our staff and patients, and in order to move in the direction of compliance with federal mandates, Journey Pure has developed a “COVID-19 Vaccination Questionnaire.” This tool is designed to gather basic information about our employees’ vaccination status. Please click the link below to fill out the COVID-19 vaccination questionnaire as soon as possible.

  • Getting vaccinated is about your health and the health of your work teammates, and can also greatly impact the health and wellness of the patients you serve.
  • As part of our “Patient Bill of Rights,” we owe those we serve a duty to adhere to the strictest of guidelines regarding health and safety.
  • Lack of adherence to vaccination guidelines could lead to operational interruptions for our company, thus eliminating our ability to provide an essential healthcare service.
  • Our service provision is critical to many people struggling with addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders, as statistical data suggests they are more at risk secondary to these disorders than the COVID-19 virus.

If you have not been vaccinated and you would like information about vaccination sites near you, please visit the state health department appointment availability website, select your county, then “request appointment”, and proceed through the registration process. In many cases, walk in appointments are available at local pharmacies.

I am very proud of JourneyPure’s response to the pandemic thus far, and I am fully confident that we will continue to navigate the pandemic-related challenges such that we will sustain our ability to provide life-saving services to those struggling with addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders.

Sincerely,

Dr. Brian Wind

Information About Boosters

COVID-19 vaccine boosters are another valuable tool to keep our community safe, and to lower virus infection and transmission rates. While they are in various phases of formal Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval, Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson and Johnson boosters are now becoming widely available. Generally, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends that eligible individuals consider a vaccine booster as soon as six months after they are fully vaccinated.

Regarding COVID-19 vaccine boosters:

  • The window of protection from the COVID-19 vaccine is extended.
  • The chances of COVID-19 related illness are dramatically decreased.
  • Extra protection is provided for individuals identified as high risk.

Who is eligible for a booster?

Those who received a Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine are eligible for a booster shot at 6 months or more after they complete the initial series:

• 65 years and older
• 18+ who live in long-term care settings
• 18+ who have underlying medical conditions
• 18+ who work or live in high-risk settings

Individuals who are 18 years and older and received the single-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine, a booster dose is recommended at two or more months after the initial vaccine.

Where can I get a booster?

You can schedule an appointment for a booster vaccination through the Tennessee state health department website.
