JourneyPure is pleased to announce the addition of Bethann Mahoney, D.O., to our JourneyPure Melbourne location in Melbourne, Florida. Dr. Mahoney serves as the resident psychiatrist for the intensive outpatient center and is currently accepting clients.
Dr. Mahoney earned her degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and has been a practicing psychiatrist for more than 20 years, specializing in mood disorders, bipolar disorder, and depression. She has ASAM certification and is affiliated with the American Medical Association and the American
Society of Addiction Medicine.
One career experience Dr. Mahoney likes to point out is her decade-plus experience as an ER nurse in New Jersey, first with the Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation and later with Shore Memorial Hospital
in Somers Point.
Dr. Mahoney is also a certified buprenorphine prescriber and has seen firsthand the profound impact that Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) has had on patients’ lives.
“It’s remarkable, seeing people improve within weeks while on Suboxone,” she said. “When the patient’s objective is to get sober, and then it actually happens, that is so fulfilling to see.”
