At JourneyPure, we recognize the need for addiction treatment for professionals, such as doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. We know the challenge it is to continue to try and uphold all commitments and responsibilities while experiencing a substance use disorder. It is extremely common for professionals from all different fields to feel that taking time out of their lives to dedicate solely to addiction treatment is simply impossible. However, professionals who obtain specialized addiction treatment for professionals at JourneyPure can work through the complications of their disease and get back to work as quickly as possible.

Treatment Options for Professionals at JourneyPure
Each professional who reaches out to us for help, whether it is a top doctor at a world-renowned hospital or a home health-aid from a small town, we provide the exact same level of quality care. Some individuals who attend our programs at JourneyPure require more hands-on care than others do, which is why we have a wide variety of addiction treatment options for professionals within the healthcare community, including those below:
For some professionals who enroll in treatment at JourneyPure, detox is a necessity. Known formally as “detoxification”, detox is a service provided to those who are physically and/or psychologically dependent on one or more addictive substances. Professionals who are in need of detox will partake in this service prior to any other programming to ensure their physical and mental stability and health.
Depending on the substances that a professional is dependent on, he or she can be supplied with medications to ease the pain caused by withdrawal symptoms. For example, professionals detoxing from opioids may receive methadone or buprenorphine to help calm symptoms and minimize cravings. A professional who is detoxing from cocaine, meth, or non-opioid substances may be given over-the-counter and/or natural medications to help treat headaches, muscle aches, upset stomach, and sleeplessness.
Those participating in detox will have access to JourneyPure’s medical team on an around-the-clock basis. Additionally, our psychiatric staff will also be available to help provide mental health supports at this time.
Residential treatment is the primary option for professionals who are struggling with a severe substance use disorder, who have made attempts to get sober before but were unsuccessful, or for those who need the time and space provided through this medium to recover.
Residential treatment requires patients to live on campus for the duration of their treatment, which can last anywhere between 30-90 days. At JourneyPure, we ensure the confidentiality of each and every one of our patients. We understand the need for privacy during this time, not only on a professional level but a personal one, too. Patients can rest assured that the work they do here and what they discuss will stay here. It is our goal to provide a safe and welcoming environment for professionals of all backgrounds to heal in. In the residential treatment program, they can do just that.
Professional men who come to JourneyPure can benefit significantly from participating in our men’s program. Upon entering the program, patients are evaluated through testing and assessments to determine their treatment needs. From there, they will be given an individualized treatment plan that will help them move forward in recovery.
During the men’s program, patients will work to develop emotional awareness that will lend itself to building strong mental, physical, and spiritual wellbeing. This will be done through participation in group therapy, individual therapy, and 12-Step programming, as well as other therapies specific to the patients’ needs. It is our belief that when men are given the opportunity to heal together and without the fear of being judged by members of the opposite sex, they are able to express themselves more and have an easier time accessing the root causes of their issues so that true healing can begin.
Similar to the needs of men, women patients also benefit when they are able to heal in the company of other women. One of the primary reasons why women find success in our women’s program is because they are made to feel safe and secure during the entirety of their care. They freely participate in several different therapies such as group and individual therapy and experiential therapy, and they also participate in 12-Step programming.
Studies show that women, especially those who have a substance use disorder, have higher rates of past abuse, which in most cases, occurred at the hands of men. Therefore, the women’s program not only allows women to focus on gender-related issues as they pertain to addiction, but it also allows them the comfort they need to work through their past history of abuse without having to do so in the company of men.
